Our Ambassador Adrian Meronk wins the Horizon Irish Open 

What a Week for our White Eagle Ambassador Adrian Meronk

He Won the Horizon Irish Open at Mount Juliet on the DP World Tour

Last week we made a last minute decision to visit Ireland to watch the Horizon Irish Open and more particularly to meet up with our White Eagle Ambassador, my fellow Pole, Adrian Meronk.

We must have brought him some Dubai luck as he only went and won the $6 million tournament at Mount Juliet as well as winning €974,605.92 and moved upto seventh place in the 2021 – 2022 DP World Tour Rankings with 1,000 points and upto Number 64 in the Official World Golf Rankings. It is remarkable to follow his golf this season, after the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship at Yas Links, Abu Dhabi, he was in 172^nd place in the OWGR, what a 5 ½ months he has moved up 108 places.

We followed Adrian, wearing our White Eagle Sport logo on his shirt sleeve and on his golf bag for all four days around the Mount Juliet golf course.

We dined with him every night and we chose the right week to witness our 29 year-old lad from Poland make history by being the first Polish golfer to win on the DP World Tour – we are all so proud that his hard work has finally paid off, especially, at such a big event as the Horizon Irish Open.

This victory has set Adrian up for the rest of the season. But as Adrian said after his victory on Sunday night, this is only the start – not the end of his achievements.

He has two big weeks coming up from today at the $8 million Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club and The 150^th Open at St Andrews, Scotland next week.

Then he needs to take a rest. I just hope he stays fit with all the stress on his body with all his gym work and practice, it does take a toll on a player’s body, especially the back.

Adrian is now getting more and more media coverage, especially in the UAE, and thanks to GULF NEWS and other media outlets and channels around, including Poland, his background and achievements are now being told to all.

Adrian’s story from a developing golf nation of just 35 golf courses is inspirational and we are all here to help him continue his upward path in golf’s global eco-system.

The good news is that we have some contracted appearances with Adrian as part of our White Eagle agreement, which we will be using at our sponsored Golf Days, so everyone will be able to hopefully meet him when he spends his six months in Dubai from October onwards.

On matters closer to home, my dream of opening a White Eagle Sport pop-up shop for DUCA DEL COSMA has arrived and, just before we travelled to Ireland, not great timing, it was opened.

It is located in DIFC, we are in Gate Avenue and then walk towards DIFC and you will find it on the left-hand side.

I cannot promise to be there 24/7 but it would be great to meet some of you there.

The DUCA DEL COSMA shoe product from Italy and other clothing and accessories we will be stocking are tailored to both ladies and men, and I am so excited to, at last, to get this project off the ground and now LIVE! We are open for business.
